Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hi Matt.
What VW are you looking at getting?

Will be good to have another SE-QLD'er who works at Vw to give us a hand.

Hey guys sorry for the late replies as I didn't realise people actually replied lol.

Okay firstly team_v I was looking at a few MarkIII's but thinking to myself now I'd rather wait till my apprenticeship is over and buy a Mark IV R32 as I always wanted one .

Skitz: No sorry I never worked at Mazda, but the company I work for is a multi-franchise and they do have a Mazda workshop. I have worked on some Mazda's at work and they're boring(I prefer the challenge of German Engineering)

DonJuan: I work at Gold Coast VW, yeah always keen to talk shop with people especially about VW's. Do you work for VW too?

Maca: your car by any chance have coilovers and BBS wheels?

Surely does, I bought it from the Coast so chances are you saw it in there recently.

I worked on it when it was in our workshop, was it you who brought it in or previous owner?

I've owned this Jetta since new, so it was most likely me. How long ago did you work on it? Because I've only had it in for once service since I bought it.

It was only about a month or two ago now, I can't really remember. And yeah, a knocking sound coming from under the floor which was written off as a bottle rolling around in the foot well It's gone now though. And wow, you've got a good memory given the amount of cars you work on.

So it was the bottle because that's all I could hear? Haha not really a good memory, your car is the only one that has come in with coilovers and bbs wheels. Plus I remember how much of a pain it was to get on the hoist lol. I couldn't get it on the 2 poster hoist(common 2 armed one) so I had to use a scissor hoist(drive onto one), the arms just simply didn't want to go under it. Btw why did you choose DSG over the manual?

Hahaha that's hilarious, I'm gonna have to meet you now to buy you a beer

And the Jetta 2.0T doesn't come in manual, or I would've been all over it.

"If you wanna get laid clubbin tonight just say to the chick u drive a jetta."

But it's because she thinks you are a pissed Qantas pilot slurring his words.
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.
