Hi all, Just been looking online to see if I could find a VW club and came across 'VWWatercooled'. I had my first experience with a Golf (offered unlimited use of a relative's Mk4 for a week whilst visiting them interstate). What a joyful experience it was as my then current vehicle down here in Melbourne was a Nissan Nomad ppl mover I bought new baCK IN '88 and this little beauty totally blew me away!

Just like Wil Smith in 'Independance Day' flying that captured alien spacecraft exclaming..."Whoaaaaaa...I GOTTA get me one o' THESE!!!" Errrr Same situation!

Well I did! and am now the doting owner of a brand new 'Carbon Steel Grey' Golf GTI Mk6. Have had it now for nearly 2 months and am totally in love with it! (and I've owned some nice cars in my time!)

I'm not yet aware of any local club that runs occasional outings, but I'd be most interested to hear from any members in Melbourne Vic who'd like to contact me perhaps with a view to mutually enjoying some outings. Although I own a GTI, I'm not specifically targeting owners of other GTI's...I'd like to chat with anyone who shares a similar 'love affair' with their VW, be it 'Polo', 'Passat', or whatever. Especially if ur a lady! OMG! Did I really say that? LOL

Mine is pretty standard really except for leather upholstery and dark tinted glass. And yes I'll certainly be checking out the 'events section' to join in some organized outings.
