Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • hey guys

hey guys, firstly let me say im not a VW guy, but the reason im here is because you seem to be the only active Austrian forum for German metal. my passion is with BMW's, i worked as a BMW tech for a number of year before switching to Mercedes for a short time before getting out of the trade and going to uni to study mechanical engineering.

My current long term project is a E21 318i (82) 5spd in alpine white, big plans on little funds is pretty well it but im getting there slowly. the goal i have for this car is to be a tarmac rally/time attack car, stripped and caged with about 220rkw on a serious budget. its currently running e30 L-jet, 323i four wheel disc brakes, an adapted cooling pro SR20 tripple core radiator and a (i built it) cold air intake with Pod filter. it has a BBS front air dam and 13x6" BBS basket weaves, its de chromed and the interior is partly stripped. Best of all its my dd. the things im working on at the moment are building an exhaust and trying to replace thos 13' weaves with something more like 15x7 in about 13et. then comes some serious suspension and drive train modifications and then the engine gets a go.

na still no luck, im thinking there should be an insert image button in "advanced" mode like most forums but its still not happening.

here is some links (that might work)

these shote were taken after I resprayed about half of it over summer, fixed some dents and rust along with a dechrome and other stuff, its not cut back or polished in the photo (still isnt polished in real life) but you get the idea

On photobucket, select the 'IMG Code' link, not the HTML code links

cool, i guessed there would be other BMW owners on this forum, most people seem to stick with cars from the same region.

e34 are a nice car especially the 535i's and the later 540i's, unfortunately getting hard to find a good one these days as a lot of owners dont want to spend the money they need in up keep. good luck with the sale.

You'd be used to it living in Margate! Where abouts? My old haunt.
