Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hello!

I brought my first car on the weekend, a 2008 GT Sport in white *drools*

Have done so much driving over the long weekend and she's a beaut!

I'm 24 and have owned motorbikes for the last 5 years so having my own car is a different feeling!

Hope to meet some of you one day.

    Happy driving!

Great car! You won't know yourself in a car. No more zipping in those tight motorbike spots though. You planing to do anything to the car?

Can I recommend if your a nut like me claying the car, it works a treat you won't believe how much stuff comes off and how silky smooth the paint work will feel.

Claying? - Could you explain more, where would I get the product from or where I could get it done?

I'm enjoying being dry and safe in a car for now - Will probably get another motorbike next year.

At this stage, I'm not going to do too much work to the car until I've had her for a bit longer and by then I'll know what I want

Short of me ranting on with very limited expertise have a look at this thread. I haven't linked a thread or URL before so if it doesn't work search for clay. Additionally I'm sure there are people on here who know plenty about it.

Agreed on paint clay! It's a wonder product to remove overspray, sap, you name it.Do this before you polish and wax.

            URS,

Further to my last post have a look at the below link it will probably tell you more about 'claying'. Sorry I'm at work at the moment hence my shortness. The guys at car care products are great if you ever become a car cleaning fanatic. Take a look around their site if your interested.

Awesome - I will look into that. She is in for a service today so once I get her back, this weekend I probably will devote half a day cleaning and polishing!!

              Thanks for your help guys!
