Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New owner of a VW Transporter T3

Hey, this is obviously my first post so yea.

I have had a look and it doesn't seem like there is that much going on with the old T3. But I am doing my one up at the moment. My family has had it for 10 years but we bought it second hand and it has come into my possession when I got my P's.

There are quite a few issues with it that need fixing and also I am planning to make it fun and stuff haha. But here is a list f what I want to do to it:
    - Bodywork on the small sections of rust
    - Paint the entire car (not sure what colour)
    - Fix the central locking (it doesnt work)
    - Install a sound system (I installed a huge subwoofer today so getting there!!!)
    - Get chrome hubcaps
    - Modify dash lighting to LED
    - Change the in car light (maybe a certain colour but I was thinking a fluorescent UV light would look cool
    - Fix the air-conditioning
    - Re-do interior (seats, roof, carpet etc.)

Thats it for now but there are probably more things I will think of.
Here is a recent photo of it:

anyone who knows a fair bit about this car, has one or can help me in any way with this, it would be appreciated it if you would just say so. Because I am a newb and I know almost nothing about this car.
