Hello to one and all. I'm a newbie from England and wish to tap into the great Australian VW experience. I've had most VWs starting with a '61 Beetle thro' to my current 2010 model year MK6 Golf 1.6 TDI and wife's 9N 2003 Polo 1.9 TDI sport. I've had all the Golf models from the mark 1 thro to the mark 6 ( had 2 MK2s). I've stayed with VW as I think they are a little better engineered than a lot of other cars and good value for money.I do most of my own servicing ( + family VWs ) and tend to keep my cars for about 10 years before changing. So far I've never had any major problems apart from the normal consumables- exhaust , clutch , brakes, etc. Most Golfs I've had , had over 100K miles on them and were still going strong when I changed them.
