Well I've just ordered my first VW. 2011 Golf 118TSi VI MkII, 6 spd manual in black. I have been reading the forum posts and am worried about the engine problems that the 118 seem to have. Can anyone tell me if this problem really has been solved.

The problem has been solved via a Recall and reflash of the ECU.
Hopefully we can get you to some of the Brisbane evetns to meet the local crew.

Yep, as above... a reflash fixed the issue.
That said, I would strongly recommend you only use quality (ie. BP or Shell) 98 octane fuels to avoid problems.Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3
