I discovered this forum some time ago whilst researching a new car purchase. I've found the information posted here really helpful. My shortlist shrunk to the Audi S3, the Golf R and the Golf GTI.
After driving all three, I chose the GTI and placed my order. After waiting nearly three months for the delivery, my new car finally arrived just over a month ago. I've put a few Km on it since then - mostly in the hills outside Perth.
I can only say that I've been very impressed - it's a very willing car. It's only limitation appears to be the driver - I'm just not brave enough to drive it to it's limits!
I'd like to express my thanks to all of you for your generous advice. You helped me a lot in making a decision that I am VERY happy with.
