The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • NSW 2011 tiguan or 2012?

    Hi guys,

I'm about to order a tiguan (after nearly buying a forester s-edition :S) and have the dilemma of ordering the current model which will take 6 months or order the 2012 model which isn't available till november. That's 8 months! but only 2 more months.

does anyone have any information on the 2012 model? as far as i can tell is it just has a new grill and headlights. I was also disappointed to find the LED running lights in the pictures only come with the bi-xenon lights and i refuse to pay for those, let alone having to worry about replacing the globes!

    car will be as follows:

    125 tsi
    7 spd dsg
    midnight blue
    beige leather
    comfort pack
    adaptive chassis control
park assist (im hoping that will pay for itself since the missus will be driving it, im assuming vw bumpers are more than $1400 tho)
    off road technology

I also plan on chipping it hence only the 125 and the adaptive chassis control.

    thoughts anyone?

    Lachy

Personally i would wait the 8 months if you like the newer shape.
DRL's aren't really worth it imho, you could always get an LED strip and retrofit it.
The update is purely cosmetic with grill, lights (front and rear) and bumpers being updated.

Note the one you have pictured is the track and field version (better off-road front) that we don't get here.

X2 and don't forget unless you have an order put in early you may have to wait additional months on top of the **planned** end of year release.

        Thanks for the info guys,

I've gone ahead with the new model as I do like the look better. Just 8 more months now, hopefully

Shame about the track and field version not being sold here, I was thinking how much better that new bumper would be for off roading, which I plan on doing a bit of. It's funny they don't sell it here when there's more off roading available than europe, but oh well.

I probably won't retrofit an LED strip as I mosty see them on hiluxs and commodores and they look tacky. I agree DRL's arn't worth the money I'll eave them for the audi drivers.

Anyway I'll report back when I've got the car,

        Lachy
