Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Hi everybody! (Mk1 content!)

    Hey guys!
Just thought I would introduce myself a little bit since i've started reading through this forum more and more lately, and have finally, recently purchased a lovely 4door '76 Mk1! I've always loved VW's but I have to say seeing a nice Mk1 gets me just a little excited >;D

So really the basics are, my name is Byron, I am 17 turning 18 this year and will hopefully have my license in the next few months (was a bit late organising it haha.. Bad idea!)
I'll post some pictures of the Mk1 hopefully before the weekend. Just need to get her out and give her a nice clean , and of course add some more details about her for you to know!

Hope your all having a rad week so far!

Finally got around to giving her a wash
    Here are some pictures!

I've got some fairly decent sized plans for her as well once the money flow starts coming through & I organise myself a bit better. I'll start a build thread up once i have a decent amount things already done, & of course have plenty more to go!
The most important thing now however is to get her running again. Which hopefully will be soon!!!
    Cheers, & enjoy!

Damn that's a clean Mk1. Awesome first car very jealous. If you don't mind me asking how much did it set you back? Should try and make it up to a cruise or Day of the VW
