2006 VW Jetta TDI vs 2006 VW Passat TDI

Hi all,

I will shortly be joining the VW ranks as I would like to try a smaller Euro car next.

Been studying carsales.com.au and the average price of Jetta = $20K, average price of Passat = $22K

Looking for DSG and leather. Both have exactly the same 103kw/320Nm TDI engine.

Interestingly the Jetta weighs 14kg more than the Passat!

I was leaning Jetta as I am downsizing from a Falcon but from what I can see Jetta is smaller yet heavier, both do 0-100km/h in roughly same time and both average roughly same L/100km

Which to buy?

My personal preferance would be for the Jetta,but both are excellent cars.

I would drive and test them both,and find out which one suits your needs better......
