Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hello All

Just introducing myself. I recently purchased a secondhand 07 R32. I had previously had a few hot hatches including Megane 225 Sport and XR5 Turbo. My last car was a 370z but with my motorcycle interest I couldn't justify having 2 inpractical forms of transport and got a R32 which I have always admired.

The car has a few mods including 19' OZ Racing wheels, intake, lowered suspension (kings) and an aftermarket audio visual system. I intend to return the wheels and tyres to stock (19's with lowered springs is too hard) and replace the headunit with something more stock looking which includes GPS.

Problems so far are the lack of R32 wheels going around and the moron who owned the car before me chopped the OEM wiring loom so I will be looking for solutions to those problems.

Leave the 19s, jsut get some decent coilover suspension Kings are fugging ****ehaus and this is 90% of the ride comfort complaints.

Sounds like a good buy otherwise

Thanks Schoona - I'm in 2 minds about ride. The suspension looks the right height (sorry they are H&K not King) but the wheels are black and look very after market and really fill the wheel arches. Going over a train line or pothole sounds like a gun has gone off.

I spoke to the guys at German AutoHaus when I had it serviced and he said the shocks here fine and not too low, he reckons a smaller wheel with a bigger tyre would be the best option currently running 235/35/19 and I was planning on 225/40/18.

Thanks also for the link. Ironic a pair comes on the market when I'm complaining but not a fan of the OMANYT - would prefer the Zolder or if they ever made th e OZ aristo from the Mk4 with a 5 x 112 I would jump on it.
