Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

hey guys im happy to have finally joined this forum. im a fan of the european autos. i own 2 myself, my daily drive atm is a 2002 bora 2.8 with 4 motion and my project car is a 85 bmw 318i e30 turbo (aiming for 300rwhp) i enjoy driving the Volkswagen on long drives to the coast and looking to drive to northern nsw around the byron area. my bora is currently for sale in the brisbane area i dont really want to sell but for the right price... i've done some maintenance work on it myself i dont find it hard given the right tools that is. lol i dont know much about the market in australia for aftermarket and oem parts, only bought from the dealer which has cost me an arm and a leg. working on the bmw i have gained knowledge that buying something overseas and getting it posted keeps the wallet much happier. a little about myself.. im a 21yro student living in northern brisbane at home with the parents. im currently studying aviation mechanical engineering at aviation australia and my goal is to end up in a cushy job with boeing. the thing i love most about my bora is the exhaust note... i love the burble! hopefully once my bmw is finished and i get a decent cash flow there will be an extreme turbo setup on the cards. the only downside in my personal view is the engine being east west and majority front wheel dive not to mention how cramp it is around the alternator, water pump and serpentine belt. enough babble for the first post of being a newb heres some photos of my bora and one with progrees of the bmw p.s. these are the only photos i have of the car with the carsales water mark... had to reboot my computer" enjoy

cheers mate. comes up great after a polish and buff. had the bonnet/bumper and the front corners of the panel re-sprayed to get rid of some bat crap damage and bad stone chips.
