Newbie in Sydney with very sick transporter !!
Hi all, have recently emigrated from Ireland with my family. As a family we show dogs as a hobby and brought along a few dogs with us. We also have a lwb 1.9 Diesel transporter combi van that has cages built into the rear to transport the dogs to shows.
We shipped the vw in a container and picked it up from sydney a couple of months ago, after much red tape with the rta we eventually got it registered and on the road. We had it serviced before we started using it and all was going fine until yesterday, while sitting at traffic lights the engine made a pop sound and blew thick white smoke out of the exhaust,
it had very little power when pulling away,so i pulled over and switched off, i dipped the oil and it was very low, think most of it went out of exhaust, there was no unusual engine noise and no visble leaks of any kind,i then had it towed home!!

Iam thinking it may be turbo related,
are there any other vw heads out there who may any ideas ???? After all the effort of getting the van here i want to get it back on the road asap.
Thanks in advance
