ACT Another newbie from Canberra

Hey guys,

My name is Jon, and have been the proud owner of my first VW for almost a year.

Its a MKVI Gti, and I couldn't be happier with it, but it's hard to find people who share my passion, so I figured I'd join this forum.

I'm thinking of getting the chip download done to it, but I don't know anyone who has already done it. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it? Does it effect warranty??

Oh by the way, are there any car groups in Canberra who get together on the odd occasion for drives? I'd be very keen to meet a few like minded people that enjoy a good road trip!

G'day Jon,

Always good to see another Canberran around - there's a few of us here on VWW and there's also a local forum which organises events & meets around the ACT (though I've not been organised enough to make it to one of those as yet). Not sure if you're interested in track events with your car but there are a number of us who head up to Wakefield Park on a fairly regular basis as well.

Can't share anything specific about the MKVI as I don't have one myself but have a chat to Pete and his crew at Canberra VW Centre in Belconnen and I'm sure they'll be able to tell you all you need to know about the chip options available for your car.
