    It's all good

    Here was me set on a tdi, deposit paid, and then I read that the tdi is not suited to short city trips. Well that's Canberra and my job so I thought eek, and called the GM at the VW dealership in Melbourne and top marks to him. He called VW Australia and managed to get me same spec model petrol on the shipment arriving next month.

    With the money i saved on the petrol model I went and added the RNS510 - so i can navigate these brutal Canberra streets

    It's sad that one stupid anti-pollution device (the DPF) has sabotaged your original plans

    But it's great that you were able to make an informed decision by querying this site before your purchase
