Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Soon to be Tiguan owner

Just in the final stages of buying a Tiguan.. although a new version is coming out this July I had to go with it due to personal circumstances...
    Anywho can't wait for it!

New version will be released at a Motorshow late this year, however the australian Market is unlikely to receive it until June 2012 or later from previous experience.

What spec/options did you go for?

    When are you getting it?

Not sure about the timings though...
This german website already pre-ordering the MY12

      Volkswagen Tiguan Modell 2012 Neuwagen-Vertrieb Rhein-Main

The roumour is that it will debut in March and sale will commence July.
When will it come to Australia though? it is anyone's guess.

I am getting 125TSI with few options. I will post the deal once I close it down.

Not really sure how they can take pre-orders for it when there hasn't even been an official release from VW about an updated model.

I believe the official release will be at a motorshow in Q3 or 4 of this year which will then take 6-8 months to flow on to here for first releases.
This was shown with the Polo GTI and the Mk6 Golf models.

It looks like they gave the 2012 Tiguan the Golf6 headlights and that's about it. We have our Tig for 5 months now and it is a joy to drive every time I get in.

Yeah, if the website is true, from the look of it the headlights and may be bigger windscreen.
looking at the specs though, lower end models will be getting 1.4 TSI
And models will have 'bluemotion' badge.. which I don't really get. Looked up in wiki and it seems like another intel 'Centrino' marketing..

The euro market have always had the 1.4TSI engine available and the bluemotion generation as well.
Will be interesting to see what they do for the model update.
