  • VIC Image Crisis; TDI Comfortline Wagon MY 11, should I sign on the dotted line?

Loved my '67 Holden HR, 'three on the tree', no synco; felt cool as. Now we have a hardy Ford Wagon (tough as, comfy, a work horse) but it's tired.

Am about to turn 50, so does buying this car mean I am no longer young, hip and happening? Have I hit middle age and suddenly become saftey and comfort oriented?
Or have I matured, like a good wine and know class when I see it? Will I fall in love?

Seriously though, I've never had a VW, never bought a brand new car, so am FREAKIN' OUT! Who already has, and loves this car? Am I on to a great car that will last us for years, and years...

    Thanks!

The Passat TDI is a decent car.
Gets quite good mileage and has a large capacity.

Have you considered a Skoda Superb or Octavia as well?

Bayford VW Epping are great from all accounts i have heard.

I second the Skoda Octavia, I test drove several cars before buying my Octavia wagon, including Golf wagon in both diesel and petrol... I found the Octavia to be a half-size bigger and therefore slightly more practical and to my mind it drove better, just felt better in my hands, I was all set to buy a VW and the Skoda came flying out from under the radar and won me over! The Golf and Octavia share about 90% of their DNA and are pretty much the same car aside from the sheet metal, but I felt the Octavia's suspension tune was more to my liking, and Skoda were more willing to do a deal than VW.
