The thing is there's no way of knowing exactly when the coils were changed over, and your "new" car could have had it's engine built several months ago before said changes happened. The bodies are indeed different, but as far as I know the pizeo actuators that are burning out are the same PD to CR. The OP may indeed never have a failure, and I sure hope that's the case, but I see this potential as significant enough to get some firm information prior to purchasing.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

OK guys ... appreciate the feedback. For what it's worth I won't buy the V6 so for me it's a diesel or nothing. With the floods going on up here I'll be waiting till next week for the final full blown quotes ... and with supply as it is I've decided I'll order a new one and wait the 4 months or so for it to arrive. So I guess that gives me the best chance of getting a good one with whatever changes they've made.
Short of the above I'll be heading back to the BMW dealer ... but I've got my heart set on the CC.My Car - 2011 VW TDI Black - Lugano Wheels, Auto Park, Dyno Audio Sound, Lights Pack etc etc
My Wife's Car - 2013 BMW X1 18 S Line Black
Waiting for - 2014 VW Golf Highline 103TSI with Driver Assist - Limestone Grey

I tried Northstar - they have nothing suitable but are checking with VWA to determine stock. Spoke to Western @ Orange they have a MY10. I've pretty much decided that for the money I'm spending I should get what I want. I'd rather to that and wait.
Hopefully things will return to normal and I'll be able to order next week. Anyway ... my 3 Series will have dropped in value some more so it'll be cheaper for me when I buy that off of my employer for my wife. Really no downside at all for me.My Car - 2011 VW TDI Black - Lugano Wheels, Auto Park, Dyno Audio Sound, Lights Pack etc etc
