  • NSW Last BB R36 sedan from VWA?

    Hi All

Took delivery of my new R36 on Wednesday. Traded in the MY07 (delivered Dec 2006) 3.2 V6 Passat sedan, and very pleased to see all the small improvements that three or four years of product development have brought. With the extra 36 kW and wider torque curve this machine is really the cream of an already great model line. It is really hard to keep the right foot restrained for the first 1000 km or so.

I believe that this was the last BB R36 sedan out of VW Aus. I know there may still be a few at dealers though. I just had to have it when I found that was the end. The only factory option was RNS510. Test drove one with Lane Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control - although you have to admire the technology I didn't want to pay $5k for features I think you will just show off but not really use.

One regression with the MY10 over the MY07 is the user manual - it is crap!!! There's many mistakes and complete lack of explanation of some important points. I'm glad that I am an "experienced" Passat driver because I really wouldn't like to rely on this latest book to quickly get up to speed on my new pride and joy. These cars do have lots of fancy bits and they are different to most of the "automotive riff raff" and so I really think you need some guidance to get the most from your investment as quickly as possible.

    Cheers
