Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Hi all, Thought that it was time to post (and register for that matter). I'm currently looking for a replacement for my current car, Nissan Pulsar 2000 N15II SSS. I think that forums like this one are great, its good to see when people who share an interest can come together and share for the common good. Even better when the more experienced people are there to assist "Newbies" with their car's etc.

So back to the reason I'm registering here. Love the build quality on the Golf's just feels so solid. Looking at either the 118TSI or the 103TDI, drove them both and loved them both. So basically just reading up on both and the driver comparisons to see if there is a winner of them both

    Welcome to the forums

Its hard to choose between petrol and diesel.
I think if you do city driving buy the petrol and obviously diesel for long distance country driving.

Good luck with whichever one you buy they're both good engines

Cheers Mate, looking to do both City driving during the week and long distance driving on the weekends and holidays. Going to be doing between 20000km's and 25000km's per year. Spoke to the dealer and a mate of mine who used to be a VW dealer, both recommend the TDI, and for some reason I'm leaning towards it too.

Still not 100% though both are just so damn good :S
