  • Buying a 2008 R36 and wondering about upgrading to RNS- 510

I'd really like a fully options R36, but looking at getting a second hand one which comes without bells and whistles.

I would like to have Navigation, Bluetooth and parking sensors after having an Audi for a while that had all these features.

If I buy the RNS510, where can I get one that is not dodgey chinese ?? How do i know it's real and not fake ?

What else do I need to make it work with a R36 2008 ?

What is likely to cost ?

I'm pretty handy with cars and steroes, could I install it myself ?

I may also choose to buy a Skoda RS because of the price. Does the same apply ? are they equally interchangeable ??

Thanks in advance for any feedback and hope to be a proper member with my own VW soon.....

This is the RNS510 i got.
Works flawlessly and easy to install (plug and play - so long as your car is compatible with the RNS510)
You will need to get it coded via vagcom which has been documented in depth on the internet.

I am not sure about the RS, i thought htey used a columbus satnav but i am not certain of this.
