Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • MK V TDi tuning

Hi Everyone - my first post on this forum. Yesterday collected a 08 Mk V Golf Pacific TDi manual for the wife to scoot to work in (she loves it). Prior to buying the Pacific we also drove a MK V GTI and Sportline FSI and overall have been mightily impressed with the engine, gearbox, handling and quality of the Mk V golf - actually to the extent that when the lease is up on my Cayman shortly I am going to have a look at a Golf R for myself.

So although we are not going to get all emotional about our thrifty little Golf diesel and start blinging it up, I am curious about what can be done to respectful re-tune the engine to deliver a bit more hp an tq without molesting the car or taking years off its life - anyway, you know what I mean.

So any advice on tuning of the 103kw MK V 2.0 diesel would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Oettinger, superships (bluefin), customcode should all have tunes to bump it up to 125kw.
