So I've just ordered my first VW after my best friend insisted....

2011.5 VW Polo 77TSI Comfortline, Candy White, Comfort Pack, Sports Pack, Audio Pack, Leatherette/Alcantara Pack, Bluetooth, Full VW Body Kit, VW Roof Spoiler, Roo painted Black, Wheels Black, Mirrors Black.

Jesus you really loaded that thing up didn't you?

The bodykit/roof spoiler is non essential and completely overpriced imho.
I would have stuck with stock and spent the cash on something else.

When are ou expecting delivery?

Should have gone for a Polo GTI. There is a silver 3 door at Solitaire Medindie, viewing purposes only until the launch.

I wanted the GTI but I hate Auto transmissions and VW might want to call it DSG but it's still an auto at the end of the day..... Plus the GTI isn't as customisable.

I only paid $3,000 for the bodykit & roof spoiler fully fitted and painted which is about $1,500 cheaper than quoted by a few other VW Dealers.

I ordered it on 21 September 2010 and will have delivert in the 2nd week of April 2011.....

So a 6 month wait for the base model polo?
I hope it is everything you want and more otherwise it will be a killer waiting that long.

$3k is chepaer for the kit but it does nothing functional so i would have spent it on a tune and wheels instead.

Trendline is the basemodel..... Comfortline is the better model and GTI is the top (the only difference between my car and a GTI will be the engine and transmission).

I would have purchased a Golf but the Polo's look meaner. The Wheels come in the sports kit (17" Boavistas).

I could have had one in the first week of January but it didn't have the alarm and I think it screams poverty when people don't get every single option on a car, or go for the top end options instead of the cheap ones as well. It's an 'all or nothing' philosophy.

I have tossed up the idea of getting the Polo GTI but I personally hate the GTI Wheels (to me they look like they have been liberated from an Alfasud) and there is no manual.

"screams poverty" says you buying the polo comfortline. That alarm will really help when all the bystanders come running to protect your car and catch the thieves.

My 'comfortline' has the alarm.... And the leatherette/alcantara seats but I suppose it is missing a flat bottomed steering wheel (with no
Controls or excess controls that do nothing).

It's really a sad state of affairs that some people can't be constructive in their opinions. Usually they are one of the lowly plebes working at a VW dealership....

There is one compelling reason to get a GTI... it has a temperature gauge in the intrument cluster - lol

I am not to argue with people speccing up cars... its their money ... BUT! The Polo GTi gets most of that extra fluff as standard and judging by my sit in the GTI at the motorshow it has a higher quality feel than any comfortline no matter what options you specify.

I'd actually love a GTI (and I'd only need to upgrade to the alcantara/leatherette seats) but I can't drive an auto (DSG in VW speak).

It takes all the fun out of driving for me.
