  • NSW Finally a VW owner

    Hello all!

My name is Nick and I am a long-time fan of VW and most marques under the VW umbrella, but only a VW owner since yesterday. I've been a Ford owner all my life but I've had it with their lack of service and poor reliability, sold my XR6T and decided to go for something else. Since I wanted a cheap car I was looking at the 77TSI or 90TSI. I test-drove a 77TSI auto at the motorshow and the car just left me dumbfounded. It might be a cheap car but it definitely doesn't look, feel or drive like one.

So, I picked up a new Golf 77TSI, manual, MDI, tint, in black. Apparently not an easy colour to get in a manual because I specifically wanted a manual car. The DSG is a fine gearbox but it's got one major flaw - no clutch!

No pics as yet because it's getting new wheels on Saturday and then a wash so I'll take some then, weather permitting - the hubcaps and 65 profile tyres look just terrible so off they go. Shortly after that, sill plates and Euro plates. Simple stuff, no major mods. I've learnt my lesson on major mods after messing around with 3 Falcons over the years.

    Welcome to the forums mate.

May i make a suggestion and get you to apply a wheel sealant before you fit the new wheels as the brake dust can build up pretty quickly on these german cars.

Hopefully they have an ecu remap available soon for the 77TSI (if it isn't already available)
