Hi there,
I currently own a 2006 Toyota Corolla ascent sport. While it's pretty good I'm looking for something with a big more power and generally better quality. I've taken the Golf 118TSI for a quick test drive, right off the bat I could tell that this was a well made machine. The steering to me a touch firm compared to the corolla but was still just as responsive. To be honest it reminds me of driving my dad's new toyota camry but in a smaller package. Now to my actual question (finally) I've read up on the Golf TSi & TDi + the Polo gti due to arrive soon. I would like to know which of these would offer best performance in terms of zipping around town. Economy is not my biggest concern - its more about having something that has a bit more grunt. I found the 118Tsi start from the traffic light to have a slight delay, I'm not sure if this is something i need to get used to (ie, step a bit harder to start).
So if I'm looking for something that will just make merging easier and give me a bit more power up a hill which model would most suit me? tsi, tdi or polo gti? or Golf Gti in fact? My budget probably won't stretch anymore than 40K on the road.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thank you.
Henry.
