Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Looking for a goodn

    Hi all,

    Never had a VW but always wanted one.
    I spent years growing up around them as a kid and being taken for a ride to the limits of the original mk1's
    I haven't seen any here in Perth but then again i haven't been looking that hard.

    I am looking to buy a MK1 Golf GTI.
    Something that is either in good condition for a good price or a project for me to revamp but will have to be a special price to start the project.
    I have some buddies still in the UK looking for a decent MK1 there so my options are open.

    Right now i would say my top range for one of these is $9K landed at my door.
    If anyone has one or knows of anyone i would appreciate a PM.

    Sorry all. I forgot to let you know where i am based.
    Perth, WA.
    I have looked at the options of freighting a car over from the East but the freight companies hit you hard, so i wold prefer something already here.
