Having kept my last car for 4 years past the end of lease, simply because there was no suitable replacement available on the new car market, up popped the Skoda Superb wagon, which ticked all the boxes for me - and a few more as well. Signed the contract early July for a 125 TDI Elegance with all the options except the hard suspension, only to be rather irritated by the latest news that delivery is currently forecast to be mid-February 2011! Build date early December is five months from order. A quick check around a few other manufacturers seemed to confirm that unless I want a Commodore, Falcon or Camry, or something imported already in stock, anything ordered from Europe is going to take a long time. Their local market must be going gangbusters. So we sit back and wait . . . .

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Skoda Superb Elegance Wagon 2.0 TDI DSG, Storm Blue Metallic, Glamour Ivory - Onyx floor, Panoramic roof, False floor, 3 spoke steering, Roller blinds, MDI, KESSY, Power tailgate, Tow bar - delivered and in service as of February 23rd. They didn't tell me there was no Bluetooth - grrrr. -
. . . and we continue to wait. From the factory's crystal ball today comes the prediction of a January build and mid-March delivery, close to nine months from order!!! The dealer seems to think this has something to do with the panoramic sunroof.
