Hey everyone, just stopped in to say hi and intro myself to my fellow vw aficionado's,
have been peeking at post here for abit of research on hints for my 06 jetta now that warranty is up i can start to play...

Thanks, Would never have picked myself as a vw owner, never in a million years, until i saw her in a dealers window at night. and as for the test drive, we wont even go there lol " how much, when can i take her ? and where do i sign ?" lol have not regretted my choice.... Pretty much all the options except the bi-xenon headlights, bodykit and the sat nav, im running the fsi with the dsg trans, sitting on 17's atm but thats gotta change soon

Has the mechatronic unit been replaced?

From memory the FSI is the non turbo engine? (VV had some stupid badge change half way through the MkV lineup)

Best mods for the non turbo would be an intake and exhaust.
Unfortunatley you are never going to get obscene power out of it on the cheap.

nothing has been replaced as of yet apart from a windscreen that the service department damaged, lol but i can assure you she is a turbo. definately silences the doubters when they come for a ride. there was 3 model's the 2.0 FSI , 2.0 TDI, 2.0 TURBO FSI

Ahh in that Case APR has an ECU remap which will allow the power figures to jump significantly.
Then a cold air intake and downpipe and you can get stage 2 software installed.

how significantly are you talking ? got a website address for APR, are they in aus ?

The Turbo Jetta was badged as the 2.O TSI after initially being badged as a 2.0 FSI.

thats correct anthony, im pretty sure they did that after the 08 model as my friend has the TSI jetta
