  • WA New VW Jetta 2.0TDI

    Hello everyone,

I'm so excited to get a new VW Jetta, it's my first diesel engine car and I can say i'm loving it there is so much power and it's so fuel efficient that I literally laugh when I look at the fuel consumption and it is a VERY big upgrade from my previous ride which was a Honda Jazz 1.5L hahaha!!

Anyways would love to contribute more to this forum

Yes I love it to bits and pieces

It is a massive upgrade from my Honda Jazz and even parking it takes more time too >.< but the parking sensors make life so much more predictable....

I chose the silver colour Jetta nice and classy photos should be at the bottom if they upload properly

It was really hard to choose a nice car these days...I considered the Honda Civic Hybrid(Scared of repair cost with hybrids), VW Golf(Came to almost the same price as the Jetta), VW Tiguan(A little over my budget), Mercedes Benz B Class (way too small and overpriced)

Mine is a 2010 model, DSG the diesel is GREAT! the fuel efficiency is crazy! I seriously don't see a point in buying a stupid hybrid when you compare them to a diesel (unless of course you do alot of stop start driving) its got a lot of torque which make it very powerful when you press the pedal down and also lots of pulling power when going up a hill...it's fantastic in other word

How do you find your petrol engine?

Thats one hot looking jetta, great location for photos, yeah i hear ya about the fuel economy, mines not too bad on the fuel, cant streach out the klm's like diesel but its definately value for money considering 98 octane isnt cheap, only down side is we pay 10 -15 cents more than the average joe for 98 octane, but i love my jetta,

that was one of the best places for taking photos of cars....

the reason i didn't get the petrol was i knew these cars use premium fuel and it's better off getting diesel since it's cheaper than 98RON but I can say the VW does do a good job at getting as much KM out of 1 tank using good engine management technology they really have one of the best engines out there.

I can just imagine getting like 2000km using a hybrid diesel hahaha! but i know diesels aren't good for short trips they like long trips to make them healthy

VW had a massive Jetta month last month locally, selling 602 units, almost as many as Golf/Wagon/GTI models...

What a great picture, Sorzai! The Jetta certainly is a massive upgrade from the Honda Jazz, I hired one of those recently in the UK (Honda Jazz, not a Jetta). There is absolutely no comparison between my Golf, your Jetta and the Honda Jazz, but to be fair, there's a considerable price difference.

On a side note, I pronounce Jetta as the Germans would: Yetta, but I don't pronounce Jazz that way!

                        hey Frankenstrat

yeah i love that photo...however i think it could have looked better...still practising using my new camera i'll take more photos next time and post it up

Certainly you cannot compare the cars and the obvious price difference is massive, however it was a nice jump for me and i did find at the start the car was much bigger...but after a while getting use to it and everything it settles in very nicely haha

And on the side note...I can't imagine calling the Jazz a Yazz hahah!! sounds strange hahah and i still prefer jetta called Jetta

I TOTALLY AGREE!! I wonder why not all car manufacturers look into putting diesels into their cars or every letting people have the option of a diesel engine....good on ya VW

Nice car I picked up my diesel Passat wagon at the end of July. Had only owned commodores before now, what have i missed. The diesel is awesome. I have driven 8000kms with a combined average of 6.5L/100kms. Did a couple of trips driving up the Toowoomba range and I was so bloody impressed. Held 6th gear almost to the top as I slowed down through the speed zones with the cruise on. It just kept pulling.
I'll be keeping this one for a while.
