  • Import of MkII ABF

    Gday people,

Sorry to send out to all but could really do with some help.

Moving down unda shortly and want to stick with the dubs. Have checked and they seem to be dollar to buy. Therefore thought about taking mine with us. Could anyone please enlighten me as to the pros and cons and if it indeed is worth it, will obviously be struggling for funds for quite a while as it is a complete set up from scratch down unda so taking the car along may help.

1 What are the typical costs involved?
2 How does rego work? Is it worth buying a car, if I do, without rego? How do I get the car home?
3 Considering taking two cars and will that make it cheaper?

Any advice and help would be much appreciated.

Have a cold one on me.

    Thanks mate

Welcome mate. Have a good search and read around the forum, this has been talked about and covered a few times on here and quite a few have successfully brought and imported cars from the UK.

ABF engines aren't exactly common place here, and mk 2's aren't exactly falling out of trees.

It's probably a pretty good idea to bring yours (if you're happy with it, etc, esp if it's a two door!).

Like lorenz said, have a search, all the info you need will have already been covered.

welcome to the forum, and good luck down under!
