I would definitely chip it and if you want a bit more power go a DPF delete through custom code.

Removal of the Diesel particulate filter by using a JBS (custom code) pipe.
This removes the most restrictive point of the exhaust system and allows for a retune which bumps power figures above GTI and close to R power
