NSW i want to be a dubber again

hey there folks

i'm a pome (prisoner of mother england, but my ozzie misses says its pom) (as i expect a few other dubbers might be, as we don't have a ford holden upbringing) correct me if i'm wrong

i don't have a dubb as yet but looking for a mk1 golf

the problem is my location i live in meribmula which is not far from "butt **** nowhere".

i have had two golfs in the past a mk1 gti 83 1800. she was black and original except a 30mm drop and some ****wit has cut a glass sunroof into her roof. i show and shined her a few times and won the odd thing.

prior to that i had a badass ugly as sin mk2 gti 84 (digifant) with a zender body kit.

she looked like something thats george michael in Wham would have driven, but luckily she had a had a vist to GTI engineering:

2 litre passat block board out to 2.2, cosworth pistons omega valves flowed head and manifold.
i bought it and some idiot had replaced one of the valves with a standard golf one, so she ran on three cylinders.
i whipped of the head had it machined and all the valves reaseated and replaced , and she went like a train
170bhp at the wheels was pretty good. it pissed my dad of as he had spent **** loads on a vr6 and i stuck to it like glue although i had to rev higher than him.

anyway enough rambilng

i need a glof mk 1 not to pricy as IVF is first on the list, four door would be good. something road worthy but a bit ragged. i am happy to do a respray and restore but need to drive it in the mean time.

plenty of Poms on here, and there's still a few mk 1's floating around, although they're getting a bit harder to find! just keep and eye on ebay, the forum, and carsales.com.au, something will come up soon (although i'd expect that you'd have to go travelling just to get it!)

Keep an eye out locally though, you never know what you'll find hiding away in peoples gardens! (or paddocks)
