Really keen on getting a 3dr golf r.
Been reading a lot of threads from this site, lots of useful info.

As i know there is a giant waiting list, whats the minimum deposit? Do you pay the rest when the car has actually arrived? not sure how it works with the payment. Never purchased a new car before, just use our spare family car (holden/toyota) but the time has come!

Welcome mate.

The deposit is usually $1000.
You pay that when you order and then pay the rest when you pick up the car.


If you don't want to wait 6 months for a "your build", maybe look at getting an S3 as it is essentially the same car.

so I've read about the S3.
is it the 2010 model only thats the same or the 09? or 11?

Just looking at CarSales AU and they have 09 S3 8P MY09 Quattro

All 8P S3's should be the same engine/body/drivetrain as the Golf R.
