Just purchased my third VW.... M6 GTI gorgeous.
Hoping to upgrade the very ordinary RCD310 to RNS510 so thought I'd come looking for advice esp on post install coding (the install seems very straight forward) Any advice welcome.

    Cheers

    Welcome to the forums Mate.
    I recognised the Kiwi title.
    What part are you from?

The RNS510 can be had off ebay quite cheaply, i believe the price has inflated about $100 since i purchased mine a few months ago.
    Ebay UK has them cheap.

I just got my service specialist to code the RNS for my car.
Cost $50 and it works like a dream.

Thanks I'm from the Manawatu where we are being blown and drowned to bits....
Did you do the install yourself and then get the coding done?. I talked to my dealer and they didn't have a clue what to code, not very inspiring. Anyone you know on this side of the ditch who might be worth a try. i often move between Auckland and home for work so can travel

I believe APR has a dealer in New Zealand that should be able to help you out:
        25/08/2010
        New APR Distributor, New Zealand
APR are proud to welcome Volkspower Service and Spares LTD (NZ) to the APR dealer team.
However they are in Christchurch so it is a bit out of the way.
Maybe they could let youi know what coding is required.

Alternativelty, VWVortex has heaps of info available.

I installed the RNS myself in my Tiguan, it is very easy to do as an upgrade form the RCD310.
There are tonnes of guides online on how to do it for the Mk6 platform.

Don't know anyone there personally sorry.
Just visited the South Island earlier this year, you have a pristine countryside there.
