Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    SA Bora, Bora, Bora!

    Hi All,

    Looking to join your world..... having a look at a 2001 Bora V6 4Motion; 160K on the clock.
    Is there anything in particular i should be looking at, listening to?
    Looks like a good community here; looking at the car tomorrow if i get it i will be a regular poster of questions.

    Potential Bora pilot, used to abuse a '71 Golf, father had a '62 Beetle from new and then he and mum bought a Kombi.....street cred.

    Make sure it has service history and no missing stamps. Haldex oil and filter changes must have been done on time! A scan with VCDS would be worthwhile if you can get one done.

    Front wishbone bushes and brakes don't last forever but otherwise they are pretty solid buys IMO.
