  • ACT V6 Highline Passat on order

    Hi All

Ordered my first VW a few weeks back.. V6FSI Highline Passat. Can't wait for it to arrive. I was very tempted by the R36, but sports suspension does get a bit old after a while (my current XC90 R-Design has it, very stiff ride), nice to have the option of a softer ride with the adaptive suspension option.

Now the wait... dealer said mid Sept so hopefully not too much longer to wait.

    Hey V6FSI,

Did the dealer provide you with a VIN and have you checked which cargo ship it's on to confirm when you're most likely to get it?

Nope, didn't provide the vin (or at least not that I can see), but I did get an email last monday saying it was due to arrive in melb that day and should be here next week.

          Congrats V6FSI,

You were very lucky you didn't have to wait too long so I suppose timing is everything & luck has something to do with it too!

One thing which is really bugging me on the new MY10.5 Passat's is whether or not they have that little "shark fin" antenna on the rear roofline instead of the 'short stubby' aerial or have the done away with it completely and use the back windscreen instead. Let me know what it looks like & don't forget to upload some photos of your new pride & joy!

Thanks Wagen Wheels. I was pleasantly surprised to get the call this morning.. was expecting it to take a few more days. It does have the Shark fin.. doesn't look that good but I guess I won't notice it while I'm driving The car also had OPS which I was not expecting.. I had already ordered an OEM kit on ebay.. doh! I'll just have to put it back on there!

I've only driven from the dealer to work and work to home so far.. (too much traffic to put it through it's paces!) but I think I'm going to like this car a lot. The adaptive suspension seems to work ok, although in the traffic all I could really notice was more road noise.. I'll have to put it through it's paces on the weekend.

I spent some time tonight sitting in the car getting to know the satnav/radio etc, setting up the drivers seat (lots of adjustments on the FSI seats). I'll try and get some photos tomorrow to post.

            V6FSI.
