QLD New Passat owner

Hello VW world. I am the proud new owner of a 2007.5 2.0TDI Passat sedan. Reside in sunny Cairns.

Had it for a month now and we are very impressed with the ride, economy, beautiful finish and ease of operation
Being 2nd hand of course means that we didn't get any choice in options, it would have been nice to have ipod imput and GPS, and reading thru the various posts hear it would appear not to be an easy add on now.

MY08 cars should be able to allow a retrofit of the RNS510 system and MDI.
May have to do a canbus update though.

Do you know what stereo is in the car at the moment?

According to the manual it's called a RCD 500.

According to the manual it's called a RCD 500.

In that case you will need to do a canbus update from memory.
Might help to google "rcd500 to rns510" or check out the my-gti website as i believe there are guides on how you can retrofit older models.
