Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Just bought transporter

Hey all I have just bought a 97 Transporter to do mail delivery, brings back memories of growing up in the back of my parents split screen kombi.
The Trasporter is in my oppinion much better than a hiace that everyone keeps telling me I shoud have bought
Looking forward to getting the next one, as I will need a few for work.

How it looked when I picked it up.

What it's looking like now, bit more work to do, getting addictive.

Looks alot better in the hands of a enthusiast

HiAce may have the name but Transporter/Caravelles ride 100x better

Thanks, has been lots of cleaning but is coming up great. Im very happy with the way it drives, I took a carravell for a drive when I baught this one and it sounded like the front end was going to fall out, have no idea what he had done to it.

I use tyre shine by Pyrol, I have to buy it in a 20 L drum and it's great on plastics. my bumpers are a bit past it and I will paint them but for the time being it makes it look clean.
