Hey Guys,
I was directed to this forum by the ex-owner of the VR6 Golf I just bought.
Having always wanted a golf, I spotted an average condition, VR6 on carsales. As soon as I saw it, I wanted it.
Its a 1994. A Bit battered around, but it seems to have been reasonable well looked after in terms of the mechanics. KMs are high. But, it was the colour I wanted and managed to grab it for $3000.
Here's a picture, of it parked outside my house. Probably the only part of the day I wasn't driving it.

Hopefully overtime I'll be able to update a few things to the car. Once the side trims are back on, I'd like to start fixing the interior back up. Needs a new roof lining, which is number one and from then on fix up the boot lining and what not.
I do however have a few newbie questions.
1) I have mastered primitive use of the trip computer, however, the car didnt come with a manual. On the windscreen wiper stock, I understand the switch that slides along changes the readings. Not really sure what it says; 0 1 2 0 or something? Anyway, what does this actually change. My fuel per 100km seemed to be different depending on the setting, so I thought maybe highway/city driving?
2) What is the best website/place etc to source parts? Particularly, I'm after a new fuel door. Mine is broken and I need it fixed.
3) The Left pax window switch doesn't work, however it does on the drivers console. Dodgy switch or wiring?
Thanks guys,
Ben
