Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC New member - Mk2 20v Turbo on it's way

Hi everyone, thought I'd post in here to see who's about. I've just moved here from the UK and I've got a container that is on the water with my car in it too. I've got a 1990 Mk2 GTi 3 door, I've put a 20v Turbo engine and gearbox in it and it's also stripped out with a 6 point rollcage, bucket seats and 6 point harnesses. No rear seats obviously because of the cage.

I know I'm going to have lots of head aches getting it road registered but hopefully a few of you on here will point me in the right direction.

Same as I did in the UK I'm planning to use it for trackdays, evening and weekend blasts and some sprints etc.

Hopefully chat to some of you soon.

    Mike

Cheers guys, just so you know I'm not into detailing in one bit so don't expect a blinged up slammed show piece. It's all about function over form with me. I designed the car for track days and more so for attacking the Nurburgring in Germany. I had a magazine article done on it a while back, I'll try to post it up here soon.
