  • VIC Newbie! MKIV Golf 1.8!

    Hello there all,

I drive a Golf MKIV 1.8 20V (Non-turbo), or as I like to call it the NA GTI Lol

Soon to change wheels to 18" Aristo R32 replicas, lower springs, window tint, detail and custom exhaust!

Can anyone recommend some good springs for me? Hoping for around 30-40mm drop? Should I get different shocks to go with them, or just leave the stock ones? Also a good place in Melbourne to install it!

    Much love.

Eibach Pro Kit or H&R Sport Springs. To answer your shock question do a bit of research on here and on VWVortex Springs w/o shocks. It's an agruement that's been done many times over. You don't have to change your shocks but to get the full benifits of stiffer springs you need stiffer shocks as well.

Awesome, cheers for the reply. Leaning towards the H&R Sport Springs after some research. Where would be a good place to get them from? I've tried ECS, it'll come to nearly $700 with shipping! Any local/Aussie places/websites?

      Thanks!

        $700? That doesn't sound right. I just put them in shipped to Tas and it was $197.40 + $182.15 shipping = $379.55US / 0.88 for exchange = $431.31AU
I used 88 cents as the current dollar is ~$0.915 so I usually calculate minus 2 cents (as this is what you lose using paypal) so 88 cents should be safe number to estimate with.

Mmm, not sure what I did wrong at ECS. Thanks heaps for the Eibach link! (Eibach site wasn't working for me earlier today.) Thanks again
