  • Help! Headache registering QLD imported vehicle in NSW

This is the most impossible task ever. My car only has blue QLD mod plate. NSW RTA do not even recognise this plate, even though it has LO1 (ADR) compliant mod code. The car still has QLD registration.

Blue slip garages wont issue blue slip unless i have an engineer go through the car!

Famis, your vehicle has to be fitted with a 'used import vehicle' compliance plate for it to be registered (pretty much anywhere). From memory it is green in colour. The blue QT Mod plate only signifies that compliant modifications have been completed. LO1 relates to seatbelts (I think).

To get a compliance plate you need to see a RAWS certified mechanical shop (do an internet search). Once the compliance plate is fitted, the car can be registered anywhere in Australia. It may take some hassles to get the plate issued as there are set programmes for used imports.
