Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Hi guys, been lurking around now for a while and have finally decided to buy a new Golf 118TSI.
    I have found the forums to be a great source of info so far and it has helped me to make up my mind to get the Golf as our next car. Just need to finalise the options list.

    From a fairly new member, welcome to the forum.

    I did my research on this forum. There is a fantastic price discount thread and price spreadsheet on this forum. Enables you to play with the options you would like. Then go for it and start negotiating.

    Make sure you mention other dealers and sales peoples names. You will know when you are getting a good deal. No one pays RRP.

      Thanks clubbie. I have noticed though that Adelaide only has a couple of dealers and they really dont want to haggle. All that I'm being offered is at most the equal of corporate discount (which is the dealer delivery) and thats as far as they want to go. Will try to keep the pressure on them.
      Decided that we want to go for the DSG with Cloth Sports Pack and Park Assist.

        Shop interstate, Solitare etc think they have you in a corner. For the cost of a plane ride you can buy in Melbourne or Sydney and run it in on the way back....

        At least make the calls and do the maths.
