Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • WA Hello :)

    Hey all

I'm Sam, I'm 17 and am currently doing Year 12 at Woodvale Senior High School. I just bought my first car, a 2002 MK4 Golf. I've wanted a Golf for as long as I can remember, so this is just awesome

I thought I'd get involved in the community, as I've been involved in communities such as this for all the things I love (photography and mountainbiking to name a few).

Here's a few pictures, expect many more

I have set aside some money to purchase some new wheels and tires, though the tires currently on the car are pretty much brand new, so this may be a bit further down the track as I don't really see much point in wasting four near-new tires.

    So yeah.. hi

    Welcome.

Nice pick up. Sensible decision about the tyres/wheels.

Good luck with your schooling. See you on the road.

ive never seen an 8 yr old car in that condition - incredibly good, even the wheels have no scratches on those what looks like original caps... previous owner must of really taken care of it - good find..... (keep it in a garage if u can)

Yeah, I guess our (myself and my father's) holding off on buying some of the other MK4s that we looked at paid off. Thanks for the warm welcome guys blanch0b, I can't keep it in a garage as we've got three cars and a double car garage that's being used for a single car and a whole load of other crap I'll be keeping a sun reflector thingo over the windscreen, though, I guess that may help save the interior a bit.
