NSW new member regarding 1600 (not beetles)

hey blokes,

on my way home from tafe in my 5.7 wh statesman on airbags and 20s , i noticed this phat little vw it was old and sorta a 2 door coupe not a camengiha or anything but i went on the net did a search it looks like a 1600 or 1500 what im wondering has any one done non vw engine swaps to one of them and can anyone direct me to 1600 forum chat as i can find all other models.
