Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • VIC Hi all!

Thought I'd finally get the ball rolling and introduce myself.

I'm a week into owning a MK6 GTi (3-door, manual, red, Detroits, RNS510, Bluetooth, MDI) and loving it! Prior to the Golf I was running a 335i coupe, and whilst it was a great car and awesome at eating km's on the freeway it was nowhere near as chuckable and grin-inducing as the Golf.

I'm planning on a couple of mods over the next few months, first of which is retrofitting the 'R' LED taillights (PM in your inbox Ozram) followed by an APR ECU remap and possibly an APR exhaust.

Looking forward to getting to know a few of you!

Thanks for the welcome Stephy. I don't have any pics yet....too busy racking up km's (and grime) to take any. Aside from the fancy lighting my car looks just like the one in the brochure.

I was set on Carbon Steel but had the brochure on my desk at work for a week or so and I was sold on the red. Never owned a red car but this seemed like as good a time as any!
