Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • NSW New Here: Automotive Photographer.

    Hey guys and girls,

I'm new to VWWatercooled, recently referred by a friend of mine. I'm currently working as a photographer and am hoping to get into automotive photography.

However, considering I don't have access to all that many reasonable cars, I thought i'd post up here to offer you guys the chance to have your car photographed for free. You only have to provide the car and help out a little, and i'll do the rest and provide you with shots. I'd prefer not to shoot everyones car...i'm mainly after decent looking R32's or GTI's, and probably only want to do 3 or 4 shoots in total.

To see my portfolio, check out my website... Www.TristanCardew.Com. As you can see, in page three there's a shot of a friends A4 wagon I took a little while ago, which shows I do know what i'm doing - I just haven't had much of a chance to try it on different cars yet...

Anyway, feel free to send me a PM or email if you're interested. Attach a couple of photos of your car and maybe we can hook up for a shoot some time.

    Cheers,

    Tristan.

Edit: Oh yeah, i'm located in Sydney. I don't mind driving out of town to do a shoot, but I would ask you to pay for petrol. Sweet!

        Whereabouts in Sydney?

Would you consider photographing a Bora V6 4Motion (or two or three)?

        Nothing to see here...

Very nice folio there mate, appreciate the time and effort that goes into getting those beautiful shots.

Look forward to seeing some of the pics that come out. There are some brilliant examples of clean modded dubs in and around Sydney

Cheers Anthony! I'm always interested in shooting new and different subjects, and architecture is something i've always been fascinated by, so i'd definitely be keen. I'll send you a quick PM now about it.

I'm located in Darlinghurst in the city, and yeah, a v6 Bora would be nice. Do you have pictures of the other cars out of interest? And where abouts are you located?

Haha...i'll leave it to Callan and Alan. I'd probably dribble too much, and their shots of it are already wicked.
