  • NSW MkVI DSG

    Are there any differences between the DSG (6spd) in the MkV and MkVI, or are they the same unit? If the same, is the software largely the same?

    Contemplating whether to go back to manual... presently have a MkV GTI with DSG, thinking of getting an R

    Hi welcome,

    Technically, I'm not quite sure.. but after test driving the mk6 gti, i noticed the DSG was SOOO much smoother than mine. Even when i first bought mine, it was never as smooth as the one i test drove (and that one has probably been thrashed). It also has hill assist..

      Does it still struggle with downshifts when you're accelerating?

        not that i noticed.. although my current DSG is lightning quick because of the DSG upgrade.
