Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • QLD Hi! Tiguan owner, and old beetle if your on aircooled forums

hi people, ill cover two birds with one stone, some of you may of seen my tiguan looking lonely with flat tyres in oxley today, a few people i know sure did, anywho im now looking for some stock tiguan wheels/tyres till i can get mine replaced if thats possible.

other than that, i bought it about 2months ago, done 4000kms faultless till the tyre issue, its going to tow my beetle to race tracks around the place, hence the name STIDUB, would like nice wheels, apr kit & the like but cant justifiy it for a brand spanking new daily driver, altho.... no the woman would probably kill me

Nice bugs. Orange one looks like an L and the white a late model 1300 or S Bug with later rear-guards?

correct, mustard one is an L / 1303, mostly stock, just lowered the front end approx 3-4" and put new brakes & suspension bushings through it

mine is the white one, its an S / 1302 wider "aero" guards, uses early headlights & late rear lights, they are approx 2" wider than stock & hug the wheel alot closer & drop alot lower around the bottom edge in an attempt to avoid the issue of the huge air pocket under the guards lifting the car making it floaty from around 90-100kph, also fits some massive wheels under them, finding skinny fronts (7.5-8") to match the 9.5/10" rears is proving diffucult, pre au falcon wheels are a decent compromise though, theres more pics on photobucket / aussieveedubbers forums in my build thread, so much for a cheap daily with a little style i thought of originally, 4-5yrs of build time now haha
